This has been reported before, but hasn´t been corrected.
The board.h for STM32F769I-Discovery has to setup FMC_SDCLK as ALTERNATE 12 not floating input as it is now.
I've confirmed this when enabling the external SDRAM on my board, had to make the above change for it to work.
