Hi,
It is a really cool feature for me. You can see that what is compile by your project is just the illustration of your configuration. Before, I was a bit confused that even a module that I did not enable was compiled.
I made a test with the AVR port and it works just fine. The tow options was tested (yes and no) successfully.

It took a while but now it is possible to override the position of the build, dependencies and configuration directories by defining BUILDDIR, DEPDIR and CONFDIR in the Makefile.
The change is in trunk.
