[INFO] Posix simulator restored

Postby Giovanni » Thu Feb 02, 2017 1:13 pm

Hi,

I added the Posix simulator to the trunk, it was missing since version 2.6.

It works on Linux Mint 64 bits, it would be nice if somebody could test it in Linux 32 bits and OS X.

Note, I had to create a link under /usr/include in order to compile: asm -> generic-asm. There must be a problem in header files, not sure if this is required in other distributions.

Hi Giovanni,

Here are two test results for trying to build the POSIX demo on OSX.

1. When I try to build the POSIX demo using 'make' or 'gnumake' I get the error:
Compiling chsys.c
clang: error: unsupported argument '-alms=build/lst/chsys.lst' to option 'Wa,'

2. In the past I was able to build the simulator with a managed build project in eclipse in which I specified the include and source files manually. Now that doesn't work anymore. If I try to build the posix simulator I get an error message because the file chcore_timer.h can't be found. I saw there is such a file for the other ports, but not for SIMIA32. Which one should the simulator use?

I'm using OSX 10.11.6 (El Capitan) and ChibiOS 18.2.1

Kind regards,

Marcel

Hi,

It is tested using GCC, clang requires changes to the makefile (remove that option).
