using the shell with the tests

Postby gclarkii » Fri Aug 03, 2018 4:38 am

Greetings,

Is there any reason for forcing the use of the RT and OSAL tests when you enable the shell?
Yes, I can go into the file and disable them, but why are they the default? There is a surprise factor when you comment out the tests in the Makefile, and then shell_cmd.c bombs.

Hi,

Doesn't SHELL_CMD_TEST_ENABLED=FALSE work for you?

Sure I can do that, AFTER reading the various shell files. There has got to be a way to simply not include the tests in the shell if someone has commented them out.

If I comment out lines marked OPTIONAL in the Makefile, I don't expect it to break the build! :D
