Recommended wifi chip for use with ChibiOS?

I am developing an IoT device and was hoping to get some suggestions on wifi chipsets for use with Chibi and STM32 micro's. There doesn't seem to be a lot of discussion in the forums recently about this. There was some chatter about using TI SimpleLink CC3100 but that was from ~4 years ago. I'd like to use LwIP and was hoping to find something that is already somewhat supported. I don't need much performance and are mostly looking for small size and low cost. Seems like this should be something people are doing!

Appreciate any tips to devices that folks have had success with. Thanks!

Hi,

There is no direct support in ChibiOS for WiFi chips, you may select one with SPI interface and use HAL SPI driver for communication, if the WiFi has interrupt signals then you may use PAL callbacks to handle those events.

The chip itself has more impact on lwIP, I am not sure if there is a preferred one for lwIP.
