ChibiStudio preview 6

Postby Giovanni » Mon May 05, 2014 8:22 pm

Hi,

ChibiStudio preview 6 has been released, few updates:

Code: Select all

*** Preview 6 ***
- Updated to ChibiOS/RT 2.6.4 stable.
- Updated to OpenOCD 0.8.0.
- Updated to gcc-arm-none-eabi-4_7-2014q2.
- Added alternate compiler: bleeding-edge-toolchain-140405 4.8.3.
Use C:\ChibiStudio\start2.bat in order to use the alternate compiler.

I am very interested in feedback on the new Bleeding Edge Toolchain, I am thinking to make it default in next release.

I don't see it. Can you provide a link?

Thanks.

I'm not a ChibiStudio user but I use the 4.8 toolchain since a very long time in all my projects. I have never faced any kind of issue if that helps.

Do you mean the bleeding edge 4.8 tool chain or another?

Do you use a different IDE or command line?

Thanks for the info.

Yes, I am talking about the bleeding edge 4.8 toolchain. I use it since it's been released in both ChibiOS/RT and non-ChibiOS/RT project and I never faced any issue.

I don't use any IDE at all for myself. I use a sane text editor and a makefile based build systems.
As µGFX customers often want some IDE-based solution or support, I am kinda forced sometimes to stick to eclipse but that's really rare. Personally I am currently evaluating Em::Blocks for my IDE of choice and I am really satisfied with it so far. I once posted a corresponding project template.

What is the time frame for supporting 3.0.0?
