Using STM32F4 Discovery and CDC to create a USB-UART bridge

Hi all, I would like to use my STM32F4Discovery board as a USB-UART bridge, using the USB port onboard (the USB-CDC driver) and connecting it to a physical UART port. But I'm not sure how to connect them together, I would need to know the baud rate and other params which the host software on Windows...

Re: Howto saving Data in Flash in Cortex M3/M4

In the latest revision of the STM32F4XX reference manual, they have moved the Flash programming manual there, and removed all references to that document. So it would be better to get yourself a copy of the latest reference manual from the ST website instead. Also, Have a look at the topic in Dev &a...

Re: Accessing debugging output from STM32F4 Discovery board

If you are using the ARM-CM4-STM32F4DISCOVERY-MEMS demo, this uses the USB-CDC serial port. This means you can connect the microUSB connector (on the bottom of the board) to your system and it will work using the onboard USB which emulates a serial port. If you are using the other demos, they use th...

New STM32F42X/43X Devices

Hi, I just saw on ST's website - they announced some new F4 Devices. Most impresive features: 6! SPIs 1MB / 2MB Flash memory 256 KB (+ 4 KB backup) SRAM Other than that, I didn't find any significant differences. They have also moved the Flash programming manual to the reference manual itself. Let's...

Re: Howto saving Data in Flash in Cortex M3/M4

You would need to check in a different datasheet called the 'STM32 F2/F4 Flash programming manual' in the section on the ST website where you get the datasheet. They describe it there.

Re: FatFS performance

Hello iggarpe, A few months ago I used a SD card connected to SPI1 of a Discovery board to display images on a LCD screen, I can only provide read figures. It takes about 20081596 cycles or about 120ms (~8.4 fps) for a full screen image of , running on a F4Discovery @ 168MHz with a 2048 byte read bu...

Re: USB_CDC example on STM32F4DISCOVERY board

Hello Markus,

In the latest dev version of ChibiOS - v2.5.0 and the trunk, there is one project ARMCM4-STM32F407-DISCOVERY-MEMS that uses the USB CDC driver on the F4 discovery. It is working for me.

Maybe you could try using that and see if it works.

Re: how can I dynamic change the PWM duty cycle in a Timer?

pwmEnableChannel sets the duty cycle of the timer. It has to be called repeatedly Alternatively if you know the timer ID(TIMX) and the channel id (0,1,2,3), then you can also do TIMX->CCRY = value; to vary the duty cycle. I have used PWM only without HAL. Here's an example of how to use the timer PW...

Re: Consolidation of all LLD and interface logic

Since it is highly unlikely that the interface of the LCD is to be changed at compile time, the fixing of the interface shall be done at compile time only. However configuration of the LCD is to be left to the user, i.e. the user has to alter the defines in his own interface.c file. We will come up ...
