Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
Guys, a quick update. I received my new LCD module today. I hooked up the MCU board and the LCD board and flashed a few of my LCD testing codes (in separate tries) to the MCU board. Everything seemed working fine now. I was able to get graph on the LCD right after it is powered on.

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
Hi Tectu and Abhishek,
I think I have mentioned in one of my earlier posts. Yes, the LEDs on the STM32F4 board starts flashing right after reset (probably a second of two delay but I think that's normal). So I guess the MCU board is OK.

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
Hi Tectu, I do have a USB to UART converter that I, again, bought off ebay. However, I couldn't make it work on any of my three PCs. So for now I don't have a way to check if the SPI or UART output from the STM32F4 board. I have another USB to RS232 converter cable. Do you think I can use this to ch...

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
OK, guys, I have tried a few things. Firstly I tried increasing the FSMC delay using Abhishek's code. No luck - Same as before (I have to wait for some time for the LCD board to work). Then I wired my PCB board using magnet wires. I checked continuity after the wiring and the connection looked good....

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
You guys are so nice, thanks. I'll try adjusting the FSMC timing first. Then I'll try soldering the wires to the PCB board. I'll let you know how it goes (this might take a few days since there are many pins to solder). @mobyfat: I built a toolchain in Xubuntu 12.04 using summon-arm-toolchain and I ...

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
I also want to mention that I have noticed after waiting for the initial random waiting time and the LCD starts to display things, everything seems working fine as long as I don't disconnect the power. I mean, as long as the LCD starts to work and I don't disconnect the USB cable, I can flash newly-...

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
Hi guys, thanks for the reply. I was reading the reference manual of the STM32F4 board family. I have to admit that most stuff in the reference manual is beyond my knowledge base. But I'll try my best. If I understand it correctly, I have to set the bits in the FSMC_BTR1 register to change the FSMC ...

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
Hi Abhishek and Tectu, I don't know if "slow initialization" is the right description of the problem. Basically what happens is that after I disconnect the USB cable and reconnect it to the STM board, the LCD screen lights up but is blank (in white color). It keeps to be blank for a while ...

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
Thank you guys for all the replies. I've been busy today and didn't find a chance to play with my board. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I connected my STM32F4 board and my LCD board using the connections found in this post: http://www.element14.com/community/groups/development-tools/blo...

Re: Undefined Reference Error and Other Questions
Hi Tectu, thank for the reply. When I tried the example the LEDs light up right after the reset. So I guess everything is correct. I'll follow your advice and try to build new projects based on the example. I'll definitely google around on HSE and LSE. Thanks for your time and help!
