Virtual Timer

Hi,

I want to Know if Chibios has one shot timers or not?
if not, can I make one shot timer by making the timer call back function disable the timer or this is not allowed? and how can I make one shot timer?

thanks

Re: IAR AVR Port

I figured it. the problem was in IAR IO header file, it defines the timer 0 int. vector location as #define TIMER0_COMP_vect (0x28) the extra parentheses"()" was the problem, so I redefined it in my board.c file like this #define TIMER0_COMP_vector 0x28 and it works fine, thanks for your s...

Re: IAR AVR Port

hi, here is the example of timer0 compare interrupt. #pragma vector = TIMER0_COMP_vect __interrupt void TIMER0_COMP_vect_ISR(void) { CH_IRQ_PROLOGUE(); chSysLockFromIsr(); chSysTimerHandlerI(); chSysUnlockFromIsr(); CH_IRQ_EPILOGUE(); } and here is the Macro I made but the compiler refuse it. #defin...

Re: [RFC] Ideas for ChibiOS/RT 3.0

what is tickless kernel? can RTOS work without tick interrupt ? Make 3.0 32bits only and optimize for it. NilRTOS could be targeted to the 8/16 bits space and be able to use the new HAL I am afraid this could be a step that lead to drop 8/16 bits support, and what is NilRTOS ? also can I suggest to ...

Re: IAR AVR Port

Hi Mr Giovani, thank you too much as your answers helped me to finish the context switch on IAR AVR although it was very tricky as it took me 3 days because IAR AVR uses two stacks Cstack and Rstack. when I try to include the HAL, the code does not compile, is the HAl Generic or it depend on AVR GCC...

Re: IAR AVR Port

thank you Mr. Giovanni for answering my questions. kindly I need more information. I noticed that Chibios is different than other RTOS by providing two ways for context switching, one from interrupt and other by calling OS APIs like chThdSleep , this way makes chibios faster in context switching as ...

Re: IAR AVR Port

I don't want to start a thread about GCC but lets say that I have bad experience with GCC, with all my respects to it, but GCC behave strangely when optimization -os is used, look at http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4343 as a small example,I also faced many of these problems, I do...

IAR AVR Port

Hi, I need to have port for IAR compiler for AVR micros, if any one has a port, kindly share it with me. is there any plans from ChibiOS development team to make one? if there is no port, I will make one. I need to know the usage of function _port_thread_start as I found it defined in every port, bu...

ARM Cortex-M0 NXP LPC11U2x Support

HI, I read on the supported architecture and devices that Chibios supports ARM Cortex-m0 architecture on device LPC11xx. I am working on a project and I will use LPC11U24FBD64 which is one of LPC11U2x microcontrollers from NXP which is also Cortex-m0 device. Kindly tell me will chibios support this ...
