HAL assume relations between msg_t, altough free configurable Topic is solved
The msg_t type is defined in OSAL and as long as no restrictions exists what types are used in OSAL, it is dangerous to assume that error return values are negative. This is done sometime in the HAL. This leads to the problem, when we changed the msg_t values to the return values used by our OS, whi...

Re: Safe handling of unexpected exceptions Topic is solved
Hi Giovanni, this is another vote for making _unhandled_exception a weak symbol. We have got the requirement to log occurence of unexpected exceptions. Currently we solved the problem by our own version of the vector table, defining _unhandled_exception as a weak symbol and overwrite it in our local...

Re: SPI Slave Driver
Hallo, it would be nice, if SPI slave mode will be supported by ChibiOS. The only change that is required to support SPI slave mode for SPIv2 is changing line 429 in ChibiOS\os\hal\ports\STM32\LLD\SPIv2\hal_spi_lld.c spip->spi->CR1 = spip->config->cr1 | SPI_CR1_MSTR; to spip->spi->CR1 = spip->config...

Re: STM32F769 port
Hey,
in the last release the STM32F769 was not included. It would be nice if STM32F769 support will make it in the next release in February.
How are your plans Giovanni?
Cheers Matthias

Re: OS-less USB CDC on stm32f4
Maybe the following patch help some of you guys. Its change the usb_lld_pump() in a cyclic callable function.
This way the USB driver should work without thread support, as long as you call usb_lld_pump() from time to time.
Cheers Matthias

I will look into unrolling that thread "work code" and make it invokable like a normal returning function but you would have to call it continuously.

That is exactly what I am doing now.

Re: OS-less USB CDC on stm32f4
Hi, I have stumbled over the same problem as Octopoulpe. The only difference is that I use a real time OS with static, non preemptive threads. As the polling function (usb_lld_pump) in the low level USB driver never terminates, it can not be used. Dynamic, preemptive threads are a quite high require...

STM32F7xx QuadSPI Topic is solved
Hallo,
when testing ChibiOS with the STM32F7 Discovery board, I recognized that in the stm32_rcc.h some defines are missing for QuadSPI. My modifications are attached as patch. I used the header for STM32L4 as template.
By the way what is the prefered way for submitting code?
Cheers Matthias

Mixed Apache and GPL licensed files
Hey, for our current development for the STM32F769, we switched from the last stable release (16.1.5) to trunk. We use only the Apache licensed ChibiOS HAL. During the first compilation runs, I realized that some reorganization of the folder structure was done. The compile errors are fixed, but I wo...
